PLAYS
A finished play is the culmination of many stages: from first draft to several edited versions,
following critique from peers and professional actors. The key to dialogue is concision
which means every word needs to earn its place.

                                                                       NOVELS

A novel is a huge beast; a marathon of diligence and endurance. Like many writers, I only know

what the story is really about is after the first draft, which means a finished novel can feel like

having written several. The key is to silence the inner critic and keep at it, because you can only edit if

you've written! I like writing hostage stories, as I find it an effective way to remove crutches like

mobile phones and communication with the outside world from a protagonist, letting them

access their most vulnerable and authentic selves quickly.

I'm working on self publishing both these novels, whilst still seeking representation to the

publishing industry for each one.

poetry

I love the power of verse, and have sometimes been inspired to write poetry, though I find that when
the music of a poem comes, it must be recorded quickly. Poetry for me is usually evoked by strong
emotions, which can surface without warning. Then, I reach for my pen and the space to
be still and let it come.
